Sewer Repair & Repiping

Main line backups that keep coming back, sewage surfacing in the yard, or old galvanized pipe turning the water brown: we repair sewer lines and repipe homes across Orange, choosing trenchless methods wherever the old pipe allows so the yard stays intact.

Sewer line repair and repiping

A failed sewer lateral is one of the most disruptive problems a house can have, but it rarely calls for a trench across the front lawn anymore. Trenchless pipe bursting pulls a new pipe through the path of the old one, and cured-in-place lining forms a new pipe inside it; both work through one or two small access pits. That matters in Old Towne Orange, where many homes still drain through original clay laterals running under mature trees and old driveways.

Repiping is the other half of this work. Plenty of older Orange County homes still carry their original galvanized steel water lines, which rust from the inside, choke the pressure and stain sinks and tubs. Replacing the supply lines in copper or PEX brings the pressure back and ends the cycle of leaks, and a typical single-family repipe takes a few working days.

Every project begins with a camera inspection you can watch with us. You get an itemized written price before work starts, and we handle the permits and inspections the city requires.

Signs of a failing sewer line or supply pipe

  • Several drains backing up together
  • A sewage smell or soggy ground in the yard
  • A sunken strip of lawn, or grass that is unusually green over the line
  • Brown or rusty water from more than one tap
  • Water pressure that has dropped all through the house
  • Repeated pinhole leaks in copper supply lines

Inspect and locate

A camera travels the sewer line while a locator marks the fault from the surface, so you know where the problem is and how deep it sits.

Choose the least invasive fix

Depending on the pipe, that means a spot repair, a liner, pipe bursting or full replacement, and we recommend the smallest job that solves it.

Permits and utility marking

We file the permits and open a DigAlert ticket so buried utilities are marked before anyone digs.

Install, test, restore

The new pipe goes in and is tested, a cleanout is added where it helps, and the lawn or concrete is put back.

Why choose us for sewer repair in Orange

Sewer and repipe jobs are large enough that the method matters as much as the plumber. This is how we approach them.

Trenchless when the pipe allows

Lining or bursting comes first whenever the existing pipe can host it, which keeps trenches out of lawns and driveways.

Repipes planned room by room

Copper or PEX supply lines laid out for full pressure at every fixture, with walls opened only where they have to be.

Permits and inspections handled

We pull each permit and meet the inspector at the house, so the paperwork is in order when you sell.

Restoration in the scope

Concrete, sod, irrigation and drywall patching are written into the price from the start, not added at the end.

What affects the price of sewer repair and repiping

For a sewer line, the length of pipe to repair, its depth and what sits on top of it make the most difference. A short break under lawn is a smaller job than a lateral running under a driveway, mature trees or a side yard, and the condition of the old pipe decides whether lining, bursting or excavation is possible.

For a repipe, the size of the house, the number of bathrooms, the choice of copper or PEX, and how much drywall has to be opened all shape the scope. Permits and inspection are included in every quote.

Each item is listed on a written price that you approve before work starts.

Sewer and repipe questions, answered

A whole-house repipe makes sense once you have had several pinhole leaks in a few years, or when the supply lines are still original galvanized steel. At that point repiping usually costs less over time than repairing one leak after another.

Trenchless sewer repair means the new pipe is pulled or cured into place through one or two small pits instead of an open trench across the yard, which is quicker, does far less damage, and leaves a pipe that is often stronger than the original.

A repipe of a single-family home usually takes a few working days, and we work through the house in sections so the water is back on at the end of each day.

You can stay in your home during a repipe. Water is restored every evening, and the only aftermath is drywall patching where the walls were opened.

New copper and PEX supply lines are both built to last for decades. Each carries the manufacturer's own warranty, and our written workmanship warranty covers the installation.

Questions

Sewer Repair & Repiping: questions we get asked

Will you need to dig up my yard?
Usually not much of it. A liner hardens into a fresh pipe within the existing one, and bursting drags a new pipe through the old route, so both need small access pits instead of a long trench. That is a real advantage when established trees, pavers or a driveway sit over the line.
Is it roots or a broken pipe?
A camera inspection settles it. Roots show up as hair-like growth at the joints and can be cut out and treated, though they grow back. A crushed or sunken section shows as standing water or broken pipe, and it keeps causing backups until that piece is replaced.
Should I repipe in copper or PEX?
Both are approved materials. PEX is flexible, so it snakes through walls with fewer fittings and goes in more quickly. Copper is rigid, long proven and often chosen where pipe stays visible. You get a written price for each and make the call.
Who is responsible for the sewer line under the sidewalk?
The pipe from your house out to the public sewer main, sidewalk section included, is typically the owner's to maintain in Orange County cities, while the main belongs to the city or the local sewer district. The camera shows where the fault sits relative to that boundary, and we tell you before pricing anything.
